Ouch... Don't know what to say. Where are you located. Perhaps someone
with experience is in the area and may be able to provide some cogent
advise.

Later, JR

Subject: <VV> Corvair in Dire Need of Help!

Hey Everyone,
I own a 65 monza powerglide with a 110hp engine. I have been have some
routine problems with the engine lately. I was driving back from work a
couple weeks ago and two cylinders quit on me. I replaced the spark plugs
(which needed it), the ignition wires (that barely had any continuity) and
upgraded the coil to a 1.5 ohm flamethrower coil. Well, it still isn't
idling properly and is sucking down gasoline like no one's business. I have
timed the engine or synced the carbs since I replaced the fuel pump (which
was leaking) and put on the new carb-regulator clips (where the carb linkage
connects with the thermostats on the heads). Today I was driving to work
when I accidentally flipped the control arm into reverse instead of neutral.
I was traveling around 35mph at time. The tires squealed and the engine quit
on me. Since that time this morning, I haven't been able to get the engine
to idle for the world. I have to pump large amounts of gas into the engine
to keep it running. The transmission (which is what I thought would be
damaged) is working fine and doesn't seem to have any problems, but the
engine is in dire straits. Also, from riding the car on my way home, I hear
a noise like large amounts of air are either being sucked into something or
blown out of something. Please send me any advice ya'll can for this
situation. I'm afraid the engine will have to be completely re-done, so I
was hoping there was something that could temporarily help it until I could
perform a full rebuild.

Thanks
Charles 11/17/06
