My vote is to use VV to talk about these things, since it's delivered 
automatically; I don't have to open a chat room to sit and yack, just put in 
my 2 cents worth(if it's worth that much) and move on to other emails, every 
so often checking.

Having to open the chat just doesn't seem to happen as fluently as email.

I think that this is why things get off topic so often, the conversation 
meanders off-topic.  Alas.
