gees i would love to see pictures of the corvair powered hydro..  i dreamt of 
having 2 corvair motors in my houseboat...but i got over it.
whenever i install mechanical fuel pumps , i put it in a vise (carefully of 
course) and loosen all the screws a turn or so. then i put the plunger at 
maximum travel , hold it as you tighten all the screws again.  this makes the 
diaphragm happy with stretching.  this was a hint that used to come in fuel pump 
boxes years ago.  so far i have had no failures of clarks pumps in a lot of hard 
miles . i put new pumps on all motors i built and (knocking on wood) they are 
all still out there.
