Once upon a time the AC GF 454 filter won a dirt bike gas filter shootout.  Best flow, caught small particles, held the most crap.  back then it was clearish plastic, too.

Now I'd get the the AC or Purolator or WIX/NAPA equivalent.  In a real emergency anybody's equivalent. I'm running 2 Purolators in a Motorcycle with a rusty fuel tank.  Instantly cured severely overflowing carbs.
