<VV> Convertible Top Pump Wiring Pt. 2

That sounds exactly right.
I found my supplement today, it was hiding in one of the other cars.
It seems to confirm that it has two windings. The red lead is
specified for raising, the green for lowering the top.
The one I have only has the two wires and reverses depending on
polarity. Grounding it does nothing. Soooo...
I am not bummed because I did not expect the old hydraulics to work in
the first place. The $10 I paid for the pump was worth it to watch the
top go up and down.
If someone has more info or can correct this, please let me know.
Does brake fluid have to be used? Or is it ok to replace it with ATF or
other hydraulic fluid?
I am armed with this knowledge next time I can run to the junkyard and
find a DPDT switch to use the current pump, or a older pump that is
similiar to the stock units.
If any one has more information, or a part number, or year and model of
a late model pump they have used, that worked, I would love to hear
about it. Oh and for those who say just buy a stock pump.... I just
bought the other new convertible that is going to require tons of money,
so ;) ....
Also it is the fun of the challenge of figuring out what will work.
