Boy howdy, how people can get so wrapped up without facts I will never know.

Did find a very interesting set of tire size tables on
http://www.pacode.com/secure/data/067/chapter159/chap159toc.html

They do have one odd feature, instead of Tire Diameter they have something 
called a "size factor" which is the tire diameter plus the section width so 
to get the diameter you must subtract the SW which is fortunately in the 
next column. Also the tables are a bit bewildering but will provide an 
evening's entertainment for the CO personality.
