My thermocouples are under the #2 and #5 spark plugs and generally see just 
under 300F indicated on the interstate. Since the SAE papers indicate that 
this area is about 100F cooler than by the exhausts, that would match a 
400F reading from the thermistor. I am thinking about relocating the 
thermocouples to the thermistor and temp switch mounts the next time I pull 
the lower shrouds.
