Tim should have noted that even though he is seeking travelling partners
from the midwest, he won't be alone when he gets to the Saratoga Auto
Museum -- at least eight of us are planning to meet there around noon on
Saturday, September 30. Here are the particulars:

We're driving to the Saratoga Auto Museum in Saratoga Springs, New York, on
Saturday, September 30, to see the exhibit, "John Fitch, an American Racing
Hero." The Fitch exhibit focuses on Mr Fitch's years with Mercedes-Benz,
but the exhibit also covers his career as a pilot in World War II and it
includes in the display two Corvair Sprints and the Fitch Phoenix.

For more information, see

http://www.saratogaautomuseum.com/

Then, following our visit to the museum, we are going to travel to
Pittsfield, Massachusetts, for an overnight stay before the annual NECC
All-Corvair Show at Lime Rock, Connecticut, on Sunday, October 1. The Lime
Rock show takes place at the Paradise Garage, see

http://www.paradisegarageusa.com/

This year the Lime Rock show includes some diversionary games, and a
shopping trip to the boutiques in Kent, and special book-signing by Mr
Fitch himself.

If you wish to join us for this itinerary, too, you'll need to let me know
and you'll need to make your own room reservations. We're staying at the
Ramada Inn in Pittsfield on Saturday night, and make your reservations soon
because leaf-peeping is filling it up fast. The Ramada Inn info is at

http://www.ramada.com/Ramada/control/Booking/property_info?propertyId=13538&brandInfo=RA

If the Ramada Inn is fully booked, there are other hotels are in the area,
we have no special "deal" for room rates.

The NECC's Lime Rock show is always enjoyable and a trip the the museum for
this special exhibit is not to be missed. Plus, the Fall colors will be at
their peak. Join us!
