<VV> LM Wheel Well Trim

Your post seems a little contradictory there.

The GM parts book tells the story. Part number changes would usually
indicate SOMEthing has been changed. However, there is NO difference in
part numbers from '66 thru '69. Therefore, no hole changes possible. And
any "thinner gauge" would have to be all in aftermarket repopped parts.
Thinner guage metal would especially show up with a different part
number, as the dies would need rework (sometimes extensive) in order to
run thinner gauge material. I'm a GM diemaker, so I KNOW.

So if there were any changes in the (OEM) hole pattern and gauge of
material, it could only exist between the '65 style and the '66-9 style.
The hole pattern could be verified by anyone who has put '66-9 molding
on a '65 (the usual mod) or the other way around. Gauge thickness would
take a micrometer test on NOS or OEM parts.
