A few misunderstandings...

The 356/912 engine is a specialty application; very high performance for
the time. 

All I know is, our 356 got beat by some cars and beat plenty of
others.....but we NEVER got beat by a 914 with that VW Type 4 that some have
said was so much better...never even had one get close in fact!

Also, saw LOTS of air-cooled Type 4's hand grenade in Super-V...before the
water-pumpers took over!
