Subject: <VV> Generator to Alternator...

<snip> I'm trying to convert the generator to 70 AMP alternator
  on my 1960 - 140 HP Monza.
I have the alternator (with built in regulator) already, however,
  I need the following:
  1) Alternator mounting bracket/brace (from the back to the shroud)
  2) mounting adaptor (atop the oil cooler)
  3) Alternator fan & pulley.
Other than the gasket for #2 above, do I need any other parts?
Please send me a price for the above, off-list.
  Regards,Tony I. <unsnip>

A couple of thoughts: The brace you seek will not fit without cutting and
rebending. The threaded hole in the back of the alternator is in a
different position. You might as well just make one. You correctly seek an
alternator adapter, fan, and pulley. You will also need the plug for the
regulator and a Corvair alternator "front" casting. Unlike the regular GM
alternator, the Corvair alternator has a two-bolt (fixed) mount, rather than
the single bolt (swivel) mount that's found on the regular alternator.
