Do yourself and your engine a favor..... buy a tachometer..... normal safe
redline for a Corvair of any tune is 5,000 rpm..

All of the 5 Vair cars I have like a 3500 rpm up shift and do not like
under 2500 rpm....

What are the shift points in MPH as marked on an FC 80 MPH speedometer?
I've got the standard 1962 80 HP with 3 speed but the instrument panel was
replaced with a 100 MPH speedometer. I'm new to the vehicle and I'd like
to know the optimal shift points. Besides, it's pretty hard to go on
engine sound without sticking my head out of the window to hear it!
