Smitty Says : Two ideas that have been worth their weight in gold to me are, One; a 4 ft flourecent fixture mounted on a 2 X 4 extending across the opening of the sliding (overhead) door. The 2 X 4 is suspended on straps so it is inside of the curvature of the rails where the door travels. That way you can have light at the door opening whether the door is up or down. Two; A 4ft fixture mounted on an old spring loaded pole lamp pole with a worm screw clamp. The fixture has reenforcements where needed and is pivoted on the clamp. It can not only be rotated into a horizontal position, but can also be moved up or down the pole by use of the clamp. It is at its best when doing body repair on the sides of cars. A word of advise on this. A strip of duct tape around the fixture at both ends to prevent the lamps from being knocked out of place in the industrial enviroment.
