Yea, I have. And that's why the GM pan doesn't have that "extra" half inch. Doesn't sound like much, but GM DOES have their standards, for a reason.

But then also, their standards can't take into account EVERY incident. Just the ones that they consider MOST likely to happen.

It's also why the stock pan is plain steel, instead of cast aluminum, for those instances where no amount of ground clearance is enough.

Have you ever seen a Clarks' oil pan? The one designed by Cal Sr.? It's maybe 1/2" deeper than a stock pan.
