A lot depends on what kind of water and how long. A brief immersion in 
fresh water will not do much. Salt water and the remaining life of the 
vehicle can be measured in months. One way to get an idea is to look up 
under the dash from the floor (may need to remove a panel). If you see any 
rust, walk away. This is one area where Carfax may help. Am surprised that 
Florida is not on the list. OTOH it is hard to have a flood on sand so 
maybe it does not include storm-surges. It is part of the reason I live 80 
miles from either coast.
