So, just plug the tach into the wall socket? NO WAIT - just kidding! But  
could you use some type of small appliance "wall wart"- power adapter as a feed  
to set the tach? - Many I have seen retain the 60 Hz A/C current on the  
output (with a mush smaller voltage, of course) - Although most are D/C and  won't 
help you. Is there a way to just use one of these as a source? -  Seth
