<VV> Valve Cover Paint

Aluminum valve covers are usually just natural aluminum with perhaps some
polishing or brushing done to the tops of the fins.
Original steel valve covers weren't painted at all, they were terne plated.
Terne plating uses an alloy of lead and tin to coat the steel and attempt to
prevent rust.
Interestingly, to me at least, was my 13,000mi '64 500 cpe. that had a patch
of blue overspray on each valvecover, and no other blue paint anywhere on
the engine or the rest of the car, except the horn button.
I wish I'd taken more photos of that CDN-built car.
Anyone else have patches of blue paint on your valve covers?
 yea, Vairily ... Shaun
