<VV> The car lift rules

Well let me say that Christmas certainly has come and gone in CT. The glow lingers.

This is because a close friend bought a car lift. He paid off his house and invested in his new garage. He is an air cooler as well and runs a 1974 Porsche 911.

A very nice car and I have to say that I do not feel envyious when I look at how much I like my vair.

When I got it up on the lift over the break, I began to see things that need attention. My goal is to drive it to Detroit.

I missed getting my car to Buffalo.

This is what I was able to accomplish over the past month.

New gas tank.
New brake lines.
New rear control arms with nylon bushings.
Tranny kit - pan and basic seals.
New U joints - with grease fitting no less.
Painted and treated drive shafts.

Main learning - take my computer to the shop so I can use the vendor listed materials to research parts needs.

If you buy and apply the outside gas tank treatment, be sure to wear gloves. I have never had so much trouble removing anything from my hands.

That stuff sticks like to your fingers like nothing I have ever worked with before.

I am on track for final assembly for this Sunday and may get a drive in on Sunday before it snows. Where the heck is winter?

Then it is off to the covered parking lot for the balance of the winter.

God it’s nice to have friends.

Santa can I please have a lift next Christmas?

Hope 2007 is your best year yet.

Regards, Garth
