Anybody remember the "short" early model Econolines?    Back When, a 
moron (and I mean MORON) who cruised Williamson Road (aka The Three 
Mile Strip) here in town, did so in an early short Econoline 
van.   It had 15" Cragar mags and wide tires and murals down the 
sides... and he would on occasion do a really tight s-turn sort of 
thing and tip it up on two wheels and actually "bicycle" the damned 
thing down Williamson Road.    I didn't believe the stories about it 
until the fool did it *right in front of me* one night.  Freaked me 
out, thought he was gonna roll the van, but he didn't.   Must have 
practiced a lot, and in something else because the van was pretty 
nice, no scrapes on either side.

Roanoke's Williamson Road provided a LOT of stories for those who 
cruised it in its heyday.    Stick around that stretch of road long 
enough and sooner or later you'd experience either an epiphany or a 
paradyne-shift enlightenment or suddenly realize the true meaning of 
life... one way or another.
