The cyl baffles cannot be removed or replaced or installed with pushrods in
place. I have been told someone cut them up and came up with a hold-down
method so they can be done individually, but the hard answer is, gird your
loins and take the heads off. You MUST have these baffles.

You need not remove the cylinder heads to install the baffles or, for that
matter to replace O-rings in the pushrod tubes. You can replace the Tube
O-rings on a cylinder by cylinder basis, loosening the lower head nuts
(masquerading as the rocker studs) for one cylinder at a time, removing the pair of
tubes, replacing the O-rings and re-torquing that pair of head studs. But, to
install the baffles, all of the tubes must be moved out of the way. Having been
in that position once, an un-torquing of all the head nuts (upper and lower -
preferably in reverse order of the factory torque) and removal of all of the
pushrod tubes, will allow access to the lower portion of the cylinders and
allow installation of the baffle. The heads can be left in place, but have to
be completely re-torqued. - Seth Emerson
