You don't really need the "official" tool, as others have stated.  I happen
to have the official "J" tool and it does exactly the same thing as a medium
sized pair of needle nose pliers.  FWIW, the official tool is a deep-U
shaped piece where each leg tapers to a point, just like a pair of needle
nose pliers.  The only difference is that the official tool has a setting
bolt that holds the tips at a particular width.  Not really needed.
