The funniest/most annoying  thing I ever saw on this matter  was this 
crazy Naderite hippy chick in a class I was in start 
yelling at me about endangering the public by driving a banned car.   
She 
was 
"going to call the cops and tell them I was driving an illegal car".
I think at that point I was so stunned I could not stop laughing.
