Today was the day, the Mother of all Tunas, Juna Tuna...

We started at 8 this morning at Terry Kalp's shop. The jobs included a EM
clutch repair, a EM front end disassembly for rebuilding, some LM rear bearing
work on a just purchased 65 Corsa, plus a bunch of little jobs. I mostly
participated in the clutch job on a senior club member's EM convertible. Turns
out that the clutch, pressure plate and flywheel weren't meant for each other, a
combination of early and late parts. The input shaft seal was also leaking a
 little.

Anyhow, the best part was everyone pitching in to help others. Isn't that
what a club is about? The "young guns" were helping the "old guard" on several
projects. I was fortunate to have the help of one of our newest members, Mark.
He doesn't own a Corvair yet, but certainly knows his way around cars and
was a great help.

This even has become so popular that we even had our own airshow. Our
member, Jim Dallas had to work today and he's a test pilot for one of the local
aircraft companies. Jim "came by" every couple of hours in a different airplane,
just to see what we were up to.
Sam, the Corvair Caterer, provided the bulk of our mid day feast. There was
ribs, brisket, sausage, chicken, beans and salads, enough to feed an army and
all very tasty. As if that wasn't enough, we also had home made strawberry
ice cream and cookies.

I think everyone had a good time. I know everyone had plenty to eat. If you
missed this Tuna, the next one is in October, Luna Tuna. Plan your projects
now.

Now back to silly Corvette discussions....
Ned
