agreed gas mileage considerations only work if you're considering a new
vehicle anyway...which is why I still gladly drive my 86 Chevy pickup
that gets pitiful gas mileage now (used to get 21mpg when new), but was
paid for about 18 years ago and for which insurance is dirt cheap. The
262Kmiles on the odometer is becoming a significant issue now though...

Thought I might hold out for the new GM 4.5 liter V8 diesel for 2009.

Will have to drive the Vair more in the meantime.

Subj: <VV> MPG rationale All Vair!!!

Read this webpage and weep.... http://members.aol.
com/abelink/mpgcost.htm

As you can see.... if fuel goes to $5 @ gal.......anf your Vair only
gets 10 mpg around town....overall!!

And you buy XXX for ?? $20g 30g 40 g and get 40 mpg....

And you drive 15,000 miles per year...

You are only saving $6,000.00....There's NO PAYBACK or savings!!!
plain and simple

You'd have to drive 90,0000 miles to just break even on FUEL......

Now how about insurance costs? Maintenance... Licensing [ many
states..NEWER = MORE $$$ ]
