The LM  unibody windshield channels rust from underneath; think water 
drops  condensing underneath a rain gutter on your house.  If you only repair 
 
what you can see, and do not treat the underside of the repair, it will  
continue to rust from the bottom until you only have POR 15 and Bondo..  You 
must treat the underside of the panel including the vertical ridge and  
behind it, followed by some surface protection like galvanizing spray or  
paint.
