Well, you are on the right track it sounds like.

A '66 Monza vert 110 in class 3 condition is worth around 6,500 - 7,000
assuming no serious rust in places you did not yet look.

Subject: <VV> Overheating Update

Another update to my overheating problem. While I still have not had time to
pull the shrouds on my 110 to clean out the motor, I did pull the vacuum
advance hose, plug it, and drive the car. Before I could drive about 15
miles before the car would start pinging badly and the red light of death
would come on telling me I was overheating. Tonight I took the car out for a
ride with the vacuum advance unplugged. No pinging after about 20 to 30
miles and no red light. Still plan to pull the shrouds and clean out
everything and see about deflashing the heads, but I was a little happier
tonight with no overheating. The car still feels hot to me, but apparently
not hot enough for the temp/press light to come on. So, now that the vacuum
advance is unplugged, should I leave it that way or trying retarding the
timing a little and hooking the hose back up? Any advice would be
appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. Been to a lot of cruise nights lately. Have yet to see a Corvair,
though I did see one in Berlin, CT for sale. (1966 convertible monza 110
blue with white top and white interior - nice shape) . Owner asking
$9,000.00 or best offer!
