Hi Everybody,

This is a request for information from owners of 1966 and 1967 Corvairs
with the Air Injection Reactor (smog) AIR option (any hp and trans). 1966
and 1967 only since 68/69 data is not needed.

I am doing a study of the carburetors used on the 1966 and 1967 AIR engines
and need your help. (Only 1966/67...)

You would be doing me a big favor if you would please check the
carburetors on your engine.

First, do you think that your carbs might be originals?

If there is a possibility that they are, would you please remove the air
cleaner assembly and with a flashlight look down the throats. (hold the chokes
open). There will be a small shelf above the cluster and easily seen thru the
air horn.

Does it have what looks like the top of a slotted screw head (normal
screwdriver tip) visible on this shelf?

Or is there something that looks like a small hole or orifice there?

If your carbs are original, there should be one of these two (slotted screw
top or orifice).

Please advise me of what you find.

Many thanks for your help.

Regards,
Bob Helt
