<VV> 2007 CORSA Convention

I just got off the phone with the reservations manager, and she
confirmed that you have to make a non-refundable deposit (I knew that)
either by check or credit card. To pay by credit card, you need to fill
out a form received by mail or fax, then either fax or mail the form
along with a copy of both front and back of your credit card and a copy
of your driver's license. Her reason was that "it's a requirement of
the credit card company". So, if you're uncomfortable with providing
that level of information (I am), then allow some extra time for them to
receive and process your check.

Btw, the form states, "Hotel rooms will not be considered confirmed
until we receive these copies and the credit card charge is approved."

A heads up on registering at the host hotel. You will be asked to make
a non-refundable deposit of $111.87 for the first night's stay ($99.00
plus tax). I was aware of this. What I did not know is that you must
either pay this by check or fax them a copy of your credit card (front
and back) AND your driver's license. I find the requirement for a copy
of my credit card and driver's license both risky and draconian. I
recognize the need for the deposit, but why all the extra stuff on the
credit card and DL? I guess I'll be mailing a check.
