<VV> Using a 3-bolt Grant steering wheel on a '67-9 standard column

Hi,

I was all excited to finish the upgrade of my '66 500 coupe to have a '67
fully-collapsible steering column. The project is done but the steering
wheel I have been using does not want to fit right. The wheel is a 3-bolt
Grant Classic wheel, model 969.

In short, the orientation of the turn signal canceling cam is about 30
degrees off when I try to use the parts that Grant supplies. I used the same
wheel (with a different hub, since the splines are a different size from
'64-6) previously with no issues.

Using the orientation of the horn contact as a guide, the Grant hub wants to
put it at about 1:30. The stock wheel places it at about 10:30. I tried
mounting the cam in the Grant location and, no surprise, the turn signals
don't cancel properly.

Has anyone else run into this problem? If so, what did you do?

Note that I also looked at other Grant-compatible adapters, like made by
IDIDIT, and it has the same (wrong) orientation. I am wondering if this has
to do with the differences between a Boyne switch and the Delco switch? The
Delco switch seems to be a lot more prevalent whereas Boyne seems to be used
only on Corvair, Corvette, and Firebird during that timeframe.

Grant seems to be clueless about this. It looks like whomever engineered
these parts is long gone from the company and the people there now just
don't know the older cars well enough to comment.
