<VV> Fuel gauge

Ron, that sure sounds like the fuel gauge.  The pink/black line should have
12 volts on it.  It goes through the gauge and then eventually to ground by
way of the sending unit in the tank.  

It seems odd that replacing the light switch would affect that line, unless
as you mentioned, you could have dis-lodged it when you were up in back.

does the 2 prong plug on backside of cluster behind gauge pod power the gas 
gauge? may be where the plug went that shorted out on harness--had one tan 
wire and one pink/black wire--any ideas out there?
