Yesterday I separated my tranny from my engine to change the clutch.. (the engine and tranny are both out of the car) and I found that the inside of the bellhousing is coated with oil.. just a moderate film of it on the entire inside of the bellhousing. Does this indicate a bad seal or something? The film of goo doesnt smell like gear oil, so I'm guessing its motor oil.

Please advise as to what to inspect, if this is normal or not etc.

Thanks!
