<VV> U.S. Vs Canadian

Arjay, take a look at this page on my site:

http://www.corvairkid.com/oshawa.htm

It's the result of a lot of input from various '65 and '66 Canadian Corvair
owners over the years. The bottom line is very few changes were made for
reasons other than GM needing to source some parts in Canada to fulfill the
terms of the AutoPact. Of the changes not in the AutoPact category, the only
one that comes to mind right away is the extra decal on the rear frame rail
that warns about battery polarity. I assume this was a Canadian
government-mandated warning.

Hank brings up a good point - differences between U.S. Built and Canadian
built automobiles.

I probably won't get much of an answer here because our Canadian brethren
are just now coming out of hibernation, but the question is whether there
were substantial differences between cars made in the two countries? Like,
for instance, were there design differences to make Canadian cars better
able to operate in severe winter conditions? Things like heavier-duty
heaters and cold-proof carbs? Or were the differences simply cosmetic
marketing items like different names and such?

 Inquiring minds want to know.
