And since the yokes will fall out of the side cover when you turn it upside  
down, it is easier to retain them in the side cover with the grease and slide 
it  sideways into the transmission. An alternate method is to set the forks 
into the  trans sliders, sticking straight up and slide the sidecover down onto 
them.  Neither method is infallible, and you will probably try the effort a 
few times  before you are successful. - Seth
