When I wuz driving my stocker turbo more ... I made sure to keep a few cans
of  *104 Octane Booster * or .. *108 Octane Booster *  essentially the same,
I thought ....   the first time you use it, dump in per directions ... after
that, I found I needed only half or less the mix....
there are many brands claiming octane boost, but this stuff actually worked
well ...

If your engine lightly pings occasionally, this " crutch" will probably take
care of it ... not cheap, so if you can find 92 octane gasoline ,
definitely give that a try ...  it would pay for itself ....

If you get stranded somewhere, you could probably get by just fine by
twisting about 6 degrees out of the distributor  ( less advance  allover )
until you get some better gasoline.

and, yes, removing the bottom shrouds gave my turbo about 100^ F cooler
gauge temps .... and water injection did just wonderful things for it ..(g)
