<VV> Seat Belt Trivia

When you hop into your seat belt and bucket seat equipped Corvair, I'm sure
you buckle up. So, you grab the outboard belt which may or may not have the
retractors on it and then reach down for the inboard portion of the belt.
Which one do you grab? The one closest to you? Wrong.

The '66 owner manual (ever read it?) tells you "With bucket seats, the inner
belt half is anchored behind the opposite seat." So, if a passenger is
present the belts will cross one another. I only looked at the '66 manual
(P 19) on this issue because I happen to have one handy. I have no idea if
the EM manuals make reference to this particular anomaly.
