That is just semantics.  One definition of "suck" is " To draw in by
establishing a partial vacuum: a cleaning device that sucks up dirt."

While your explanation of the physics involved is technically correct, the
use of the word "suck" is limited not by physics but by definition.  We use
the word to define that act of reducing air pressure (by various means).  If
you say that carbs don't "suck" then you would also have to say that people
don't suck fluid through a straw, baby's don't suck milk from a bottle,
etc., and then what would be the meaning of the word "suck"?

Re: the notes on carbs that suck...that would be a first. As those of us who
are old enough to remember Mr. Wizard know, sucking is actually the pushing
of air into a place with less pressure. Even vacuum cleaners don't suck,
except maybe those used to clean excess fuel from a carburetor.....
