That depends on what rear end ratio you're running; if you're running a  
3.55:1 (common) your tach (if you have one) will show 3000 RPM @ 60 MPH--or  close 
enough to make no difference.
If this doesn't answer you question, maybe I don't understand--can you  
rephrase?
