Hi all,

Just thought I'd interject here--with a mention of what we do in the model
horse world. :) (check out my webshots on that! :) We have what we call
Original Finish (OF) which would be equal to "stock" in cars. Many years
ago people started customizing these model horses and pretty soon it was
hard to tell what the original mold was. The classes that we had were at
that time called "custom" and it didn't matter how much customizing was
done--they all competed together. Nowadays (and not THAT long ago) we have
what is called simple custom and drastic custom. Mostly in the simple
custom it could be simply a repainted model horse--something the model did
not come in from the original manufacturer; however, it can go to a little
more extreme wherein the model is tweaked with a turned head, twitched tail
or ear, or even hair put on it to make it look more real. For drastic
custom, the model horse could be totally redone from its original
stance--the guideline here is if you can't tell what the original mold
was--it's a drastic custom.

Anyway, my point is (and please bear in mind that I don't have much
experience in car shows--never have entered one myself, though attended
some many years ago when my then husband owned a Sunbeam Tiger and he would
show it periodically); perhaps someday there will be "simple modified"
(maybe different mirrors or carpet or something rather small as compared to
Tim McCann's electric Rampy :) and "drastic modified" - or maybe there
already is something along those lines?

As for me and my little rampy, Mugsy, when he is ready to have the body
work and paint and such done, I plan on keeping the heavy duty rear steel
bumper and the contractor's lumber rack that my dad had made for the truck
ON the truck. It will make it more Mugsy that way. And definitely more
modified--though a working "persons" truck over a rolling off the factory
floor driving-mobile. :) I can't wait till that day arrives. :) Hah!

Best,

P.S. I recently attended the Corsa West Concours d'Elegance and took a
bunch of pictures. Y'all are welcome to go view them at my webshots
albums--the show pics are at:
