For what it's worth, Audi design chief Walter da Silva, the man behind the
current A6, the Q7, the second generation Audi TT and the R8 has been
mulling over a 1:18 model on his desk for some time. What is it of, you may
ask? Well it's a modern re-incarnation of the rear-engined NSU TT. Given
the success of the (BMW) Mini, da Silva thinks there may well be a market
for a new NSU TT. Interestingly it will also be rear-engined, like the
original. Da Silva says that with modern electronics to take care of
handling like ESP (Electronic Stabilization Program) TCS (Traction Control)
ABS and all the rest, the handling of a modern small rear engined sports car
would be no problem. I, for one, hope he puts it into production.

Pictures are rare, but this is what it looks like
