<VV> Bendix Not Engaging

When I had starter trouble on my Monza wagon, (sometimes no response) I 
first replaced the solenoid.  Then the starter always responded but 
frequently with that high pitched grinding.  I pulled the starter off to 
clean up the drive assembly but it looked good and operated freely. 
Frustrated, I pulled a starter with solenoid off the shelf, installed it and 
it's been working just fine ever since.  Ya just never can tell for sure....
