<VV> auto trivia question NO CORVAIR revised?

Now that I'm on this, a Ford friend of mine challenged the previous
definition.  He says:

Early (We're talking Model Ts and Model As again) Fords had three large
encased shafts in the powertrain; the engine with its crankshaft, the
transmission with its shaft and the third member which was the torque tube
and differential center section. 

 

Now doesn't that make sense?
