I actually use a set of unmodified vert kick panels in my Corsa coupe. 
If you didn't know what it was supposed to look like you wouldn't 
consider them ill-fitting (and most folks would not likely notice anyway).

But a Corvair guy that knew what they should look like and was looking 
for it would immediately recognize they were wrong... so if Roy saw 
correct-fitting two piecers in coupes somebody (Chevy or aftermarket) 
either had to do the modification (as described in the tech manual) or 
they molded a new piece. I think the latter is unlikely.
