Hi Bud,
Bottom line....to fix, it is likely that the clutch will have to come out.  
Sorry. So once it's out carefully compare the whole assembly to a known good  
one. Especially compare the PP and ring gear to a known good one. You DO HAVE  
the correct PP to match your flywheel, don't you?
That's the best advice i can think of right now.
