<VV> <CORSA Chapters> [Corsabod] CORSA Chapter map -- 2010 Caravan

Greg,

I would consider them two seperate functions, as proposed. I just wanted to make sure that we didn't get to far away from one BIG event. We can still caravan to the convention and that would be a great lead in story to the 2010 convention (or anyother convention for that matter). The dates for the 2010 convention are 21-25 June 2010, per the ICE web site. I wouldn't say that's in stone, since it's still two years away.

FWIW, I'm planning to cruise part of old Route 66 on May 10th in a Corvair caravan. The clubs in OKC and Tulsa are having an outing, where they meet between the two cities. I'm "crashing" (maybe that's not the right word) the OKC part of the cruise. There are many cool things to see on that old road, especially when cruising in a Corvair.

Ned, my apologies- I thought we were talking to separate functions. I was
wrong, yes by all means it needs to end at the convention. Having done the
convention before I know most people won't do both. Can we move iowa south?
Just kidding.--is there a date set for the 2010 convention?-greg

Caravan

I think this is a great idea, but....

The 2010 convention (aka "The big shindig") is in Iowa not Amarillo. Route
66 doesn't (didn't) go through Iowa. Meeting in Amarillo puts you over 900
miles away from Iowa. Now I know this trip doesn't have to be connected to
the convention, but that was the original idea behind the caravan, to bring
attention to the CORSA convention and the 50th anniversary.

AFTER thinking about this for awhile going from Chicago to l.a would leave
out the west coast crowd and they should also be in on the fun. So how about
this? The folks on the west coast take the mother road east, and the
easterners take the road west, meet somewhere in the middle like Amarillo
for a big shindig. Then the ones that want to turn back can and the ones
that want to continue can. You will have a different core group at the
midway mark. As long as there is a group, together w/ plenty of mechanics
and the 2 main parts distributors follow each caravan w/ a trailer of parts.
Just a thought. greg
