<VV> Carb system on a Turbo engine

I am thinking about building a mild performance engine for a future Corvair
project.  Would it make sense to use a turbo engine as the starting point,
even if I am not necessarily going to go with a turbo system, i.e. perhaps a
Holley carb over 140 heads?  I am just starting to think about what makes
sense, so I can start shopping for the necessary parts.
