205/60-15's are (mathematically) 24.69", as I recall. That's a pretty
good size tire (remembering that 7.00-13's were about 25.3").

The 195/65-14's would be 23.98" (call it 24" ;-), quite a bit smaller.

I just wondered what effect your tire diameter had on your setup. The
195's would change your 3.08 to an effective 3.25 ratio, compared to
using a 7.00-13. But the Powerglide has the torque converter to get it
going.

The 206/60-15's, being taller only change the overall ratio to a 3.16.
The 3.65's give you an overall 11.53.

By comparison, my car, with a 3.55 and 225/50-16, 24.88" rear tires,
has an effective 3.61 rear ratio. With my 3.11 1st gear I end up with
11.23 overall.

The moral of the story is, of course, your 3.65 more than makes up for
the 3.08 in 1st gear!

(Hope all my math is correct.)
