<VV> What secures the damper door hinge pin?

What secures the pivot pin that holds the damper doors
in place where the air exits the lower shrouds?

I've lost one that appears to simply have wiggled its
way loose, and am ready to replace it, but don't see
that anything but the tension provided by the
thermostat rod would keep things secure.  I think
that's what I trusted the last time...
