<VV> Tires shelf life

Modern tires contain a number of ingredients to protect against aging. Main sources of deterioration are flexing, heat, sunlight, oxygen, and ozone. If you do as you said and bag them tight in black plastic and store them in <90F, they? would probably be OK for? 10 - 15 years.

Hi Craig,

I'm not real sure how long they will "keep".

Even if bagged (let's say double bagged) in opaque plastic and kept in a
dark, cool environment - just what sort of shelf life would new tires have?
I'm not a chemist or rubber specialist, but I'd be wondering just how long I
could reasonably and SAFELY extend the shelf life. Four years? More, less?
