<VV> Techlock was: security system / ignition cut off

Larry,

I'm replying to you and VV.

I figured that the company was out of business and I would have to find a
used one. The more info I can get the easier the search will be. A copy of
any info that you have will be great.

Thanks in advance,

Dave Thompson

Hi Dave,
I have issues replying to VV. It seems that this e-mail server puts Carrot
A's in that blocks my postings on VV. I'm stuck right now. Maybe you can
post it for me. I have the literature at my other home, but not here right
now. Company no longer is in existence. Best to see if you can locate a
used one. They ARE pretty slick.

Larry,

Thanks for the note.

I did a web search on Techlock but found nothing. Do you have any other
information on it such as the brand or manufacturer or model number? I would
love to find one.

Thanks,

Dave Thompson

Seth wrote me off line (see bottom). I did a few searches and came up with
nothing. Has anyone heard of the replacement solenoid that he is talking
about?

Perhaps a solenoid ratchet switch that will not use power in either mode. It
only uses power to operate from one mode to the other. I don't want to have
to open the engine compartment every time I get into / out of the car.

I would like some suggestions of what some of you have done.

One of the easiest I remember was a solenoid replacement (that looked
exactly like the original from the outside). It required the key to be
turned to "Start" in a pattern - I don't remember what it was - and then the
starter would engage. It was widely advertised at the time. Not sure if it
is still around. Worth a Google!
