our old machines, then we need to be willing  to think outside the box and
apply new 
technology whenever possible...  that's my motive, here.

recognized the difference between an electric typewriter and a word
processor with no problem at all.  I can count all the fan bearings I have
needed to change in the last 40 years on one hand.  How much reliability do
we want or need for how many dollars over the old technology?
